Dagmar Midcap Bio


Dagmar Midcap is an experienced media personality that has claimed a niche for herself across North America. Aspiring to work in the entertainment sector from a young age, Dagmar Midcap enrolled in a broadcast journalism program. She graduated from BCIT with her degree in the year of 1990. From there, she looked to pursue her personal desires in becoming a media personality. To achieve her goals, she auditioned for a role focusing on a weekly position at a TV station in Akron, Ohio. Her role was to appear on the ‘weekly current affairs’ program for the WBNX-TV channel. As she continued to gain experience and become noticeable in the current affairs field; she maintained her position for 9 years.

Desiring to move back to Canada and closer to her roots; Dagmar Midcap searched for a TV position in British Columbia. To continue on the TV side of things, Dagmar took up the position of ‘traffic and weather’ reporter for VTV on their breakfast segment. This was a short-term stint as she quickly transferred to another morning show locally for Global Television. Her role in this morning show was similar to her previous position as traffic reporter.
Looking to bring a new challenge into her professional life, Dagmar Midcap pursued other potential opportunities. She wished to work away from the ‘live television’ sector that included morning shows. She wanted to host a show or participate in a TV series; her opportunity arrived in the form of the show, “Crash Test Mommy”. Life Network provided her with an opportunity to host the television show for them based on her previous experience with televison. Continuing her role of host, Dagmar was signed up to host BCTV’s show ‘Driving Television’, a show primarily focused on the automotive industry and the latest cars that were being released for test drive purposes. This was a national broadcast and gave her incredible exposure.
As Dagmar Midcap looked to head back to the United States, a new job opportunity arose as the weather and traffic anchor for CBS affiliate, WGCL-TV. This position was quickly changed into her becoming the main weather anchor for the channel within a year of her hiring. Due to emotional reasons, Dagmar Midcap tendered her resignation and looked to head back to British Columbia once again. Close to the end of 2010, Dagmar Midcap had resigned and was looking for a new position.
After spending some time away from the television industry, she took up a new position for a NBC owned affiliate, KNSD-TV. This was situated in San Diego, California and her duties were to be the meteorologist for the channel.
In between her positions on live television, Dagmar Midcap has acted in various film and television series. All of these series have been produced within the Vancouver area making it easier for her to stay closer to her roots while doing what she loves. Some of the series that she has acted in include, Smallville, Dead Zone, Just Cause, Touching Evil and Twilight Zone. She has also acted in a few films including Air Bud and Catwoman.
